Maine’s Resorts Are About To Get Slammed With Snowfall

MAINE – Winter just doesn’t want to quit in New England. While many are planning to make the trip into the eclipse’s path of totality for Monday, others are planning for an epic weekend of skiing, with some Maine resorts claiming up to 28-30 inches of possible snowfall by Friday.

According to News Center Maine, this storm could end up being in the top ten biggest April snow storms for the state of Maine. The weather is really expected to being this afternoon/evening, with the biggest snowfalls slamming Maine’s resorts overnight into mid-day tomorrow.

Sugarloaf Mountain‘s report states that the storm is expected to drop 18+ inches of snowfall, while Sunday River has opted to stay quite a bit more vague in relation to the expected totals. Saddleback, on the other hand, has stated that snowfall could reach between 28-30 inches by Friday, an enormous amount for the independent ski area.

Honestly, News Center Maine Chief Meteorologist Todd Gutner just seems tired of the snowfall, and I get it. If you’re not addicted to skiing, this time of year is when you’d probably want the snow to melt away. I’m just sad I won’t be able to take advantage of this storm. New England skiers and snowboarders, enjoy it!
